Senior IAS officer Aruna Sundararajan was today named as Secretary in Ministry of Steel as part of top-level bureaucratic jumbling effected by the legislature.
Sundararajan, a 1982 batch IAS officer of Kerala unit, is serving as the Administrator, Universal Service Obligation Fund under Department of Telecommunications. She has been selected for the position served by Rakesh Singh, who superannuated on September 30, a request issued by Department of Personnel and Training stated.
She is among five new Secretaries designated by the Indian government. Vijay Shankar Pandey will be serving as Secretary in Department of Chemicals and Fertilizers. Pandey, a 1979 group IAS officer, will be serving his cadre in Uttar Pradesh.
The Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) has affirmed continuation of extra charge of Chairman and Managing Director of SAIL with Anup K Pujari, Secretary, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises with the end goal of congruity, until another personnel joins the cadre.

Ramesh Abhishek, a 1982 batch IAS officer of Bihar unit , has been selected as Secretary, Performance Management in Cabinet Secretariat. ACC has confirmed the new appointment of additional charge for Secretary position, Minority Affairs to Amarendra Sinha, Secretary, National Commission of Minorities. The position will be left alone following superannuation of Arvind Mayaram on October 31, the order stated.
