Bollywood veteran actor Shashi Kapoor attended function of the 6th Jagran Film Festival to receive a Lifetime Achievement honor on Sunday night. Industry individuals praised his commitment to Indian film, and said it is well deserved. The legendary actor who was recently honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, was presented with the Lifetime Achievement privilege by commended director Shyam Benegal.
77 year old Shashi Kapoor is perfectly known for his nuanced performance in memorable movies like Trishul, Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Kalyug, Kabhi Kabhie and Vijeta regardless of his sick health he was available at the ceremony to get the award. He has been wheelchair headed for a few years now. Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui says the more youthful parcel of Bollywood takes a bow to Shashi Kapoor’s assortment of work. He continued saying, Kapoor did a considerable measure of commercial movies yet his preferred movies were unique ones which he produced and his commitment is gigantic in Indian silver screen. Director Sudhir Mishra expressed that no other honor can match all the achievements of Shashi Kapoor.
Other Bollywood stars like Udit Narayan, Madhur Bhandarkar, Amy Jackson, Kunal Kapoor, Sanjay Mishra, Gulshan Grover, Swara Bhaskar, Tigmanshu Dhulia and Neeraj Ghaywan attended the event. Actor Bhumi Pednekar received Best Actress award for her debut film Dum Laga Ke Haisha. Dulal Sarkar secured the Best Actor (Male) award for a remarkable performance in Bengali film Chotoder Chobi. Furthermore, Shoojit got Best Director award for the second back to back year for his simple yet persevering story in Piku.
