Whole nation is swirled up with Dadri lynching incident where mob killed a muslim man over rumors of consuming beef. Narendra Modi has confronted party sources not to indulge themselves and party in any controversial statements. Haryana Chief Minister ML Khattar had further worsened the situation saying, Muslims in the country must give up beef in a rally yesterday.
“Culturally, we are democratic. Democracy has freedoms, but those freedoms have a limitation. Eating beef hurts the sentiments of another community, even constitutionally you cannot do this,” Khattar said.
Portraying the Dadri incident as a “result of a misunderstanding”, He has been connected with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for more than 40 years, said,” It ought not have happened – from either sides. From every sense physically assaulting someone and killing is completely abrupt.
On September 28 in Uttar Pradesh’s Dadri, Mohammad Akhlaq, was dragged out of his home over the rumors of consuming beef by a mob of around 100 and pounded him to death after an open announcement was provoked from temple that a calf had been slaughtered.
“Freedom of one person is only to the extent that it is not hurting another person. Eating beef hurts the sentiments of another community, even constitutionally you cannot do this. They can be Muslim even if they stop eating beef, can’t they? It is written nowhere that Muslims have to eat beef, or Christians have to eat beef,” Khattar added.
