Samsung has added another new smartphone to its rugged series called Galaxy Active Neo. This mid range smartphone is launched in Japan at 20,000 yen (Rs 10,900 approximately). There is no information about the launch in India, but very soon it is expected to launch globally.
Active Neo is IP68 certified which can survive under 1.5 meters of water upto 30 minutes and it also comes with MIL-STD-810G certification for salt and seawater, dust, humidity, rain, vibration, solar radiation, transport and thermal shock resistance.
This new smartphone comes with mixed specifications and it is a firm handset in the series released so far and comes in a rugged body.
Coming to its specifications, it comes with all decent specifications and it looks like the company has sacrificed the screen resolution to make the price low. Galaxy Active Neo sports a 4.5-inch WVGA (800x480p) display, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor SoC with Adreno 306 GPU coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of Internal Storage which can be further expandable via a microSD card and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. The device draws its juice from 2,200 mAh battery.
The device is equipped with 8MP rear camera and 2MP front-facing camera for selfies and its connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 and NFC.
Galaxy Active Neo will be available for sale in November via Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo. The other details regarding the mobile will be revealed soon.
