Samsung has recently introduced latest and thinnest top-end smartphone in its A series, the Galaxy A8 in India at a price of Rs 32,500, on Monday. Actually Samsung was announced Galaxy A8 earlier this month in China. The device has been completely manufactured in India’s Samsung plant, and will be available from August 3 at all retail stores and e-commerce website across India. Galaxy A8 features dual-SIM support (Nano-SIM) — of which one can also act as microSD card slot. This means you would use both SIM slots without micro SD card storage expansion, or else a single SIM with micro SD card expansion (up to 128GB).
Asim Warsi, Samsung Mobile & IT Vice-President told, “We completely manufactured Galaxy A8 smartphone in India Samsung’s plant on the demnads of India consumers.”
He further added, “Samsung Galaxy A8 will be available from August 3 at all the online and physical retail stores across the country.”
Samsung Galaxy A8 features a 5.7-inch full-D (1080p) resolution Super AMOLED display, and powered by octa-core Exynos 5430 SoC (four cores clocked at 1.3GHz + another four at 1.8GHz) processor alongside with 2GB RAM. The device has 32GB internal storage which can be further expandable via micro SD card (up to 128GB). The Samsung finally bring latest Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system to the A series.
Galaxy A8 sports 16 megapixel autofocus camera at the back with LED flash, while 5-megapixel camera on front side. It even has a fingerprint sensor which doubles up as a home button and for easier unlocking and added security. The dual SIM Samsung Galaxy A8 has LTE Cat 6 (4G) support, including 4G LTE bands for India. It packed with 3050mAH non-removable battery. Other connectivity options like Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, and LTE support.
