Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat on Monday has launched a Android App for Badrinath pilgrims titled as Shubh Badrinath Yatra. This app is useful for devotees to access the route information from between Joshimath and Badrinath. It is listed in the Google play with a description “This app is designed to provide you all the necessary and useful information of Joshimath-Badrinath yatra route to make your visit pleasant, safe, happy and comfortable. This app will introduce you to the traditional pahadi cuisine and all the updates directly from Sri Badrinath ji.”
When a user is online the application will automatically detects the place and provides information from that point of journey.
Garhwal Divisional Commissioner Chandra Singh Napalchyal said that a user can get information regarding ATMs, petrol pumps, hotels, restaurants, potable water, toilets, parking stands, bus stands, taxi stands and repair shops, emergency services, routes to indicate it if there is an unpleasant weather condition.
Devotees who come to yatra from different parts of the country has appreciated the move saying it is really helpful for those who visit Badrinath.
“Having such lot of information about the route on your mobile phone will definitely be useful”, said Rajesh Awasthi, a devotee from Lucknow.
Chief Minister Rawat has admired the app and said based on its success the government will try to extend it to other pilgrimages such as Yamunotri, Gangotri and Kedarnath.
