There is no particular date for this festival because it follows the Holy week. After the completion of 39 days after Easter Sunday, the 40th day is observed as the Ascension Day. The date of the festival completely depends on the dates of Holy Week. This year the Happy Ascension Day is on 30th May 2024 Thursday. So, the day is also called the Holy Thursday because it always falls on Thursday. People in few countries celebrate on different days in the following week. The people of England and Colombia consider Ascension Day on Sunday.

The day is a public holiday in a few countries and it is a free day for workers. Many people take a long weekend off because the day falls on Thursday. The Friday in between will be quite in the city and special services will take place at churches throughout the country.
