State Bank of India is the oldest bank of India which originated in 1806 as Bank of Calcutta. It is the 43rd largest bank in the world.
One of the most important factors for any bank to be a successful bank is the satisfaction of its customer. Complaint redressal is very important for customer satisfaction. If the complaint of the customer does not address, the bank might end up losing its customer.

In current times, bank accounts are becoming more vulnerable, and the responsibility lies upon the bank to take care of their customer’s bank accounts.
SBI is one of the biggest banks in India which holds the account for about 420 million customers so they have to be especially careful because of their size. It has launched its customer care portal so that customers can register their complaints easily.
SBI Complaint
The complaints filed both online and offline, whichever the customers prefer. A customer files various categories of complaint which might be:-
- ATM card related
The customer might have complaints regarding their debit or credit card not working, or stuck in the ATM machine, or any other ATM-related issue.
- UPI related issue
The customer might face the issue of a failed UPI transaction or a transaction in which the account of the customer is debited, but the recipient had not yet received the amount. In such cases, the customers can file a complaint to credit their money back.
- Loans and Advances
Sometimes, the customers face the issue of Interest on a loan being charged twice or incorrectly charged, the customer can file a complaint against that.
- Unauthorized transaction
A customer might file a complaint against an unauthorized transaction that takes place from their bank account, which they are not responsible for and they can get a refund in case they have lost any money without any valid reason.
- Deposits
At certain times, the customer may deposit money in the bank, but the money does not reflect in the bank account. The customer can lodge a complaint to add the money in the bank account so they can proceed with their banking activities.
- Government schemes
If you are the beneficiary of a government scheme and have not received the amount you were supposed to in your bank account, you can file a complaint with the bank after checking in with the government official responsible for the scheme.
How to register an SBI complaint offline?
You can also file an SBI complaint online by following the steps given below:-
- Visit the SBI branch
- Reach out to the Customer Service Executive
- They will provide you with a “Complaints Book”
- Enter your complaint in the Complaints book
- You will be handed over an acknowledged copy of the complaint
- You will also receive an acknowledge text in your registered mobile number
- The registered complaint will be addressed within 3 weeks
How to file a complaint via SMS
To file a complaint through SMS, SMS “UNHAPPY” to 8008202020 and the SBI executives will call you to resolve your issue.
How to file an SBI complaint in Customer care online
- Go to the official website
Visit the official website of SBI
And then click on “Customer care”. And, then go to “Compliments and Complaints”. In the next page, you will see the option to go to “Customer Request and Complaint Form”.
- Open the Complaint form
You can follow the above steps or click the link to go to open the Customer complaint form
- Fill in the details
You can enter your details like Customer type (Existing SBI customers OR Non-Customers – Prepaid cardholders, Metro or Canteen cad holders), Account number, complaint name, Branch code, registered mobile number, Complaint details. Enter all the details correctly.
- File your complaint
Now, you can write your detailed complaint of maximum of 500 words. Click on the “Submit” button and if you want to change any detail of your complaint click on the “Reset” button.
How to track the SBI Complaint Status Online
You can easily check the status of your SBI complaint through the following steps:-
- Go to the official portal
- Fill in the Complaint Ticket number and registered mobile number.
- After that enter the string shown in the image.
- Select Submit option.
- You will get the status of your complaint.
