 Dance India Dance Selection Process

The selection procedure for Dance India Dance divided into two distinct stages. First one is the Open Audition, and the second one is the Mega Audition. The open audition organized in 5 – 6 places in India. Where the eligible dancers can attend the audition and show their dance performance in front of judges. During these stages, all the participants would perform individually before three masters.

After the performance, masters will give their dissection on the spot, whether the participant selected or not. If the dancer impressed the masters with his/her performance, then the master provides a hat called “ Taqdeer Ki Topi,” that means the dancer is selected for the maga audition round. In this stage, the Dance India Dance Vote process is not working for the audience.

The second round is the mega audition. Only 100 participants will select for the mega-round from the open audition. In mega-round, judges have tested the participant’s danceability, stamina, and their ability to perform under pressure. At the end of the process, only 36 participants will select, who will give their solo performance after this, only 18 participants will choose for the final auditions.
