So, the fisherman and vendors replaced their place and sit in the open vowed to Ganesha for a permanent residence.
With the efforts and supports of the local councillor Sri Kuwarji Jethabhai Shah, Dr V.B. Korgaonkar, Shri Ramchandra Tawate, and some other residents agree to give the plot to construct a new market. After fulfilling the wishes of the fisherman and the traders, Lord Ganesh established on 12th September 1934. Who Makes Lalbaugcha Raja
The Ganesh festival for the first time started in 1935 at the Lalbaug, and late Madhusudan D Kambli was commissioned to sculpt the Lalbaugcha Raja. As the years passed, the next generation of him has taken this responsibility to sculpt the Lal Baugcha Raja. Over the years, the family ensured that some few things remain constants like the eyes of the Lord Ganesha, the face and the idol’s body.
Mr Ratnakar Madhusudhan Kambli, who is now in 77 years old, has been making the idol from 2002. In 1935, the height of the Lalbaugcha Raja was 5 feet, but now the height has fixed at 14 feet. Year by year the decoration became elaborate.

The track takes around 25-30 hours, and sometimes it takes 40 hours for darshan. Every year around 300-400 employees organize for this event. And in the second line, which is the Mukh Darshanachi Line, people can see the Lal Baugcha Raja from some distance without going onto the stage. The path takes around 5-8 hours and sometimes, it also takes 12-14 hours to get darshan for the idol of Lalbaugcha Raja.
